LECTURE - USA MANSIONS OF THE GILDED AGE
The Gilded Age mansions of the USA were built during the period between 1870 and the early 1900s by the USA's industrial, financial and commercial elite who amassed great fortunes which made possible "palaces" decorated with antiquities, furniture, collectibles and works of art. They projected wealth and power were made for impressing, entertaining and receiving guests. Relatively few in number and geographically dispersed across the USA.
