The 2021 Youth Symposium will bring together youth members from across Victoria for a day of much needed connection, fun, and empowerment through delivery of keynote speakers, leadership development activities and a platform to discuss the big issues facing our youth members.
The day promise to enrich, challenge and facilitate our leaders of tomorrow with valuable leadership and communications skills; keynote speakers from sport, leadership development and our lifesaving role models, being part of a jam-packed program.
The day will conclude with a development challenge, with our youth member encouraged to design a program or initiative that will help impact an identified need by one of the four executive councils.
This event has been designed for members 13-17 years, for those that wish to attend outside of this age, please email kate.mclauchlan@lsv.com.au
*This is a free event for all youth members to attend - food and refreshements provided.
Please note in order to attend and be part of the program the following applies for members and staff 16 years and over;
To comply with the latest Victorian Government roadmap, LSV members, employees, industry and community partners, contractors and visitors will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be able to:
- attend an LSV or club facility,
- deliver an LSV or club service in person, or
- participate in an LSV or club activity in person.
Please be aware that we are now required to collect, store and record your vaccination status as per the directions from the Chief Health Officer under section 200(1)(d) Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic) (PHW Act).

Given the mixed use of our venues and roles within lifesaving, we strongly encourage everyone aged 12 and above to be vaccinated against COVID-19, in line with the government’s public health advice. 12 – 15 year olds do not need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to participate in this program, however note they will need to if they intend completing their SRC/bronze or participating in lifesaving patrols, and therefore will be considered a worker.
