ABOUT THE EVENT
'THE SECRET SCIENCE OF SOIL'

Grow tasty, aromatic, nutrient-dense food, with STEVE BATLEY

Want to improve the productivity of your garden?

Join Steve Batley, Director of Sydney Organic Gardens, as he delves into soil science and how it influences our health and food.

Steve uses permaculture, holistic management, and years of hands-in-the-soil experience to create productive, regenerative ecosystems for all garden types.  Ideal for backyard, courtyard, balcony, community, verge and vertical gardeners.

You’ll learn:

  • How to grow food using techniques that work with nature
  • About the bacteria and fungi that make up our microbiome
  • How to improve ecosystems and create biodiversity
  • Build healthy soil and nurture life
  • About carbon capture.

'Only recently have technologies allowed us to better understand the bacteria and fungi that make up our microbiome that have led to breakthroughs in soil science.' - Steve Batley

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Steve Batley

Steve Batley loves growing food in healthy ecosystems - tasty, aromatic, nutrient dense food.  He uses permaculture, holistic management, landscape architecture and years of hands in the soil experience to create productive, regenerative ecosystems from small urban spaces, up to large acreages in the country.

Steve loves sharing his knowledge and teaching people how to grow food using techniques that work with nature and improve ecosystems. It’s about nurturing life, building healthy soil, capturing carbon, creating biodiversity, and allowing nature’s complexity to do its thing.

Steve runs Sydney Organic Gardens.
