A unique opportunity for children over 4 years old to encounter unique Animals from around Australia. Mammals, Birds, Marsupials, Amphibians and Reptiles.
This program explores the diversity of Australia’s animals that make up our unique ecosystems. Children will learn about the five kingdoms of life and the roles they play in creating healthy functional ecosystems.
Presented with species found across varied Australian ecosystems such as deserts, forests, grasslands, wetlands, rivers and oceans while exploring topics such as:
- Symbiotic relationships
- Abiotic and biotic factors
- Energy flows, food webs and food chains
- Trophic levels
- Primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary consumers and the roles they play within ecosystems
- Distributions and densities of species
- Sustainability
This presentation gives children an understanding of the value of interlinked and interdependent relationships between a diversity of organisms and plants. This co-dependence is the most fundamental element sustaining life on earth, as we know it.
There will be opportunities for your child to handle some of the animals and get up close for photographs.
This session goes for an hour and is targeted at school age children and may not be suited to younger children whose attention span is shorter. Please take this into consideration prior to booking.
Bookings are essential and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Adults are not required to purchase a ticket.
