Leading Publicly in a Hostile Environment
ABOUT
Leaders are often people with deep conviction who seek to bring about organisational and societal change. The nature of leading therefore, will inevitably put you in the public eye. For Christian leaders, this may be even more complicated, because the gospel will always contain a message of confrontation to the ways of this world. The proclamation of God’s kingdom-come in Christ, and the implications that has for our world, has historically been disregarded, ignored, or has conjured up antagonism.
What happens when our environment is hostile, or indifferent, to our conviction or the change we feel called to bring about? How do Christian leaders lead with conviction and courage in the public space? We need discernment and wisdom to lead well, both within our organisations and within society.
Join Alphacrucis University College for our next free webinar as we discuss the complexities inherent in leading publicly. Our guest will be Rev. Tim Costello AO. Tim has had much experience leading in the public sphere. He has been, by turns, a lawyer, minister, mayor, CEO of World Vision Aus., and now the Executive Director of Micah Australia. Tim is regularly advocating with politicians, and is often called upon to comment in the Australian media. His deep wisdom and insight will help equip all of us to lead more winsomely in this cultural moment.
