Join East Timor Hearts Fund for a screening of Take Heart: Deadly Heart to raise awareness of rheumatic heart disease (RHD) in Australia and one of our closest neighbours, Timor-Leste.
RHD is a killer disease that can be prevented. Some of the highest rates of RHD in the world are found among Indigenous Australians, and Timorese people.
Take Heart: Deadly Heart tells the inspiring story of how remote Aboriginal communities across the top end of Australia are adopting innovative strategies to eliminate RHD.

• Dr Ari Horton - A paediatrician and cardiologist at Melbourne Heart Care featured in the film; and East Timor Hearts Fund volunteer.
• Vicki Wade - A Noongar woman; Producer of Take Heart: Deadly Heart; and Director of RHDAustralia at Menzies School of Health Research.
• Professor Sandra Eades AO - A Noongar woman; Rowden White Professor of Health Equity at the University of Melbourne; and East Timor Hearts Fund Director.
