Lachy Hamilton Quartet
This is the JAHL HESHI album tour - a jazz concert by a quartet lead by Lachlan Hamilton.
“JAHL HESHI represents all that is cutting edge in Australian contemporized jazz… " - Barry O'Sullivan.
They embody a collaborative approach, and have a curiosity for exploration within their music. Their music represents all that is beautiful about jazz – it’s freedom, creativity, inclusivity and spontaneity.
“Their inventive original music is filled with emotion and their interpretation of classic jazz standards provides new light to old gems.”
Self-described as curious improvisors grounded in jazz tradition, the group is co-led by Harry Sutherland on piano and Lachy Hamilton on tenor saxophone and features Jacques Emery on double bass and Alexander Inman-Hislop on drums.
Individually these musicians have been recognised by some of Australia’s most prestigious awards, such as the Freedman Jazz Fellowship and BBM Youth Support award.
