NEW YEAR IKEBANA FLORAL ART
About
Come and join this special Ikebana Japanese Floral Art Workshop to celebrate the New Year.We will create a contemporary design based on "sho-chiku-bai", the traditional elements of pine, bamboo and plum (plum blossoms to be substituted with seasonal flowers). We will use three bound vertical pieces of bamboo with florals and foliage, and decorate the vase with a miniature "obi" sash and "mizuhiki" decorative cords. In Japanese culture, bamboo represents prosperity; pine, longevity; and plum, fortune! So let's celebrate good luck and new beginnings together! Saturday January 21st, 11:00am-1:30pm at The Painting Party, 21 Johnston St, Stratford, Cairns. For more info, please contact: info@mireifloralart.com
