With optimism and energy, the Swing era songs addressed issues of their time – the Great Depression, societal structure, war, prohibition. And today their infectious melodies still carry that energy and adroit observation. Join us for history through fabulous Swing songs.Solstice Singers is a small vocal swing group of eclectic singers who love the lively rhythms and harmonies of the swing style. Along with Music Director Emma Smith Cayley and accompanist Marco Callisto, the group is returning to Urrbrae House in 2023 for this special South Australian History Festival performance. This event is being presented by the Friends of Urrbrae House Historic Precinct in conjunction with the University of Adelaide. Complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments from 2.30pm; concert start at 3pm.
This event is being held in the downstairs Ballroom of Urrbrae House which due to its heritage nature is accessible via stairs only.
