Freo 2323
About
Western Australia Heritage Festival 2323‘Freo 2323’
Two shows only: 7pm, Tuesday May 9 and Thursday May 11
Alan Hancock with John Rich
A mix of story-telling, comedy, audience interaction, and music Freo 2323 imagines our city 300 years hence. Visions, dreams, nightmares, whacky predictions, a word from the Crazed Clairvoyant, the Mad Optimist and the Terrible Realist, a visit from the Preppers, Mad Max, and the Grim Reaper. Through it all an insistent upbeat sense of humour – a babble of voices that tell of life in the 280th year of the Ping Dynasty, in the time after the Great Flood, in the age of Green Utopia, when AI took over the galaxy and all the Freo folk lived happily ever after.
Comical, thought-provoking, and sometimes downright bonkers, Freo 2323 is a 50-minute trip into the future. And yes, there are aliens. Freo 2323 looks at what’s happening in this you-beaut place right now, and projects it all into an unimaginable future. Except Freo 2323 dares to imagine.
