About
Convener: Ms Judith Bryce.Judith, a member of SHAC, is an experienced fibre artist and has exhibited her art works in Ballarat and Regional Victoria. She usually works with raffia, both botanically and commercially dyed, often incorporating foraged materials into her pieces.
In this introductory workshop you will create the beginnings of a woven basket using a stitch-weaving technique. By the conclusion of this workshop, you will have a small, circular base which could become a larger basket, be one part of a pair of woven earrings or, could be added to a personalised book mark.
All relevant materials will be provided. You will take home some raffia and a needle to continue your stitch-weaving journey.
Please bring your own lunch/snacks/drinks and an apron.
Coffee and tea will be provided.
Maximum participants: 10 (minimum 6 ).
Should there be interest, this workshop may lead to a future, more advanced workshop, incorporating found woods and natural materials.
