Tibet2Timbuk2 returns to Wauchope with their gorgeous sonic blend of Tibetan folk, reggae guitar grooves and intricate Indian tabla.
Tibet2Timbuk2 features world famous Tibetan vocalist Tenzin Choegyal with long-time friends and musical collaborators Marcello Milani, Shen Flindell and special guest Sangeet Mishra on sarangi. It's been a while since Tibet2Timbuk2's last Wauchope Arts performance, so the anticipation is building.
Tenzin's 'Be the Ocean' concert series explores subtle aspects of the five elements – earth, water, fire, air and space.
In this cross-cultural collaboration Tenzin's powerful voice and intuitive poetry invoke a special sense of peace, strength and emotional connection. Through music, narration and visuals the artists weave an evocative soundscape, drawing on the strong allegory of the ocean to inspire new thoughts, stir shifts in perspective and create space for contemplation.
Wauchope Arts is proud of the achievements of Tenzin Choegyl as an artist, composer, activist, musical director and cultural ambassador. He is one of the world’s finest musicians in the Tibetan tradition, and humbly continues his nomadic lineage.
