About
Poly Varghese developed his artistry on Mohan Veena, as a student of its inventor, the famous Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. Initially a student of South Indian double headed drum, the mridangam, he became inspired to change instruments on meeting the master. He has played internationally; in Europe, the Middle East, and of course India. Now Australian music lovers have a chance to catch his sublime playing at Box Hill Community Arts Centre.
'You can feel the passion and the soul that he puts behind every note, every phrase that he plays.' - The Score
'His music makes one feel that the most precious morning or the most sultry and exquisite evening is there to be heard in his touch.' Sue McCreeth Most Popular British Jazz Singer
