Mugga Mugga Grasslands Heritage Walk
About
The paddocks surrounding Mugga Mugga Cottage include remnants of critically endangered natural temperate grasslands. These highly diverse and habitat rich grasslands, set within a fabulous landscape, were used and managed by Aboriginal people to support their needs for food, fibre, medicine, tools and shelter, and their richness for grazing stock became a key reason for settlement in this region. On this walk Geoff Robertson, a long time member of the Friends of the Grasslands, will introduce you to this fascinating habitat and show you ways to appreciate its subtleties and help protect it for the future.The walk is held over uneven ground so sturdy walking shoes are recommended as are long pants, long sleeved shirt and a hat. For the comfort and safety of other walkers and to protect our environment, we do not allow dogs on our walks.
