Michael McGirr is the mission facilitator and head of community engagement for Caritas Australia, a job that involves working with staff in 17 countries.
Michael is a writer, reviewer and educator and has twice been a recipient of a Senior Fellowship from the Australia Council for the Arts.
As well as reviewing over 1000 books for major Australian publications, Michael’s own books have sold over 200,000 copies.
He has been a regular columnist and reviewer for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Canberra Times
