Baroque music by Corelli, Albinoni, Telemann and others
Arcangelo Corelli was one of the masters of the concerto grosso form of composition in the baroque era, juxtaposing the sweet tones of a solo group against the richness of a full ensemble. This concert presents a concerto grosso by Corelli, as well as pieces in similar format by Georg Muffat, Giuseppe Torelli, Georg Philipp Telemann and Alessandro Scarlatti. The program is rounded out with contrasting works by Tomaso Albinoni and Vincenzo Albrici.
