Online Connection Circles: The Masks We Wear

What masks do you wear? From childhood, we learn to protect ourselves with defence mechanisms and personality traits that ensure our safety in the world. By adopting certain behavioural patterns, we unconsciously seek security and stability. Our coping strategies are as varied as our masks. We learn to wear different kinds of masks to keep us from getting hurt.
What are we really hiding? Are we fearful that if we are seen in our vulnerabilities by others, we will be exposed? If the real you is exposed, what do you fear will happen?
In this circle, we will identify our protective shields & explore removing our masks so that we can come into our true authentic selves and open to deeper intimacy & connection. We will embrace vulnerability as an opportunity for connection & become more ‘real’ with ourselves through openness and willingness to be seen, loved and accepted in our vulnerability, without hiding behind the perceived protection of our masks.
