Where the Wild Things Were: Maurice Sendak’s Queer & Jewish (CANCELLED)
Join us at the Jewish Museum of Australia for a glass of wine, live music performed by the extraordinary Simon Starr and a fascinating conversation between Dr Golan Moskowitz (Tulane University) – author of Wild Visionary: Maurice Sendak in Queer Jewish Context – and Associate Professor David Slucki (Monash University).
Together, Golan and David will explore how Maurice Sendak’s personal identities, as a queer man and son of Yiddish speaking Polish-Jewish immigrants, influenced the creation of Maurice’s iconic children’s book Where the Wild Things Are.
