Easter Camp 2024 - Mt Cameron Field Study Centre
About
The Mt Cameron Field Study Centre is in Tasmania’s far North-east, about 4.5 hours’ drive from Hobart (about 1.5 hours east of Scottsdale).
It is located at Cameron Regional Reserve at the base of the easily climbed Mt Cameron. The area is of biologic, scenic, and historic interest, featuring granite geology. There is easy access to coastal reserves such as Cape Portland and Mt William National Park. Nearby there are abandoned mines and the unusual Blue Lake. There is also gem fossicking.
A list of activities will be distributed prior to the excursion.
The Field Study Centre has bunk accommodation: one room sleeping 16 people, one room sleeping 14 and one room sleeping 4. There are also some unpowered campervan/caravan and tent sites available.
When booking, ensure that you book a place for each person in your party for each night of your stay.
There is a large heated main room, a full kitchen for large groups and separate male and female rest rooms with hot shower
