Gian Slater - Glimmer
Gian Slater is a vocalist and composer with an approach that incorporates wordless singing and improvisation, songwriting, electronics and extended vocal techniques, new music and contemporary composition and collaborations with theatre and dance practitioners. She has released eight albums, has featured on many recordings for acclaimed Australian and international artists, and created the acclaimed vocal ensemble, Invenio Singers, which she has led since 2010.
Her new music for her soon to be released 9th album is a collection of new songs performed solo on piano/voice that revolve around transforming understanding and experience. A deeply cathartic reckoning with stubborn expectations, self criticism, friendship and most all compassion.
