Creating better pilots - Industry Forum Observer
About
The proficiency of professional pilots is under the microscope, and rightly so! Many “First Job Providers”, report the current standard of Commercial Pilot Graduates from many 141/142 Flight Training Schools is not adequate or acceptable. One Northern operator reports that recent graduates are needing up to 3 times more “Line Training” to meet acceptable standards. “Just send me a pilot who can actually fly a circuit” is a plea from another operator who regularly employs low time commercial pilots looking for their first job. Even airlines are lamenting the declining standards of pilot proficiency and rising costs to get new hires to an adequate standard. This Forum invites the following groups to sit together to brainstorm potential solutions to the perceived problem.
