MUBSO Presents: Storyteller
Once upon a time, an orchestra by the name of MUBSO was founded, and to this day, it continues to bring together a wide range of students unified by a shared passion for music and storytelling. Thereby, prepare to be swept away in an enchanting symphonic journey of two epic works as the front cover unfolds to reveal MUBSO's first concert for 2024 - Storyteller. Our tale begins with Brahms' first piano concerto, a mammoth work of cataclysmic intensity and emotional weight that reflects a personal and tragic backstory. Following this are the fantastical melodies of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, a timeless symphonic suite based on the Middle Eastern folktales One Thousand and One Nights which conjures images of a voyaging ship, a sensuous love story between a young prince and a princess, and a storytelling heroine as she attempts to captivate and seduce a violent, evil Sultan.
The orchestra awaits you at the entrance to the concert hall before setting sail on a breathtaking musical journey of delight and wonder.
Hope to see you there!
