Bartier Perry Lawyers Partner, Sharon Levy, discusses the statutory duty of care under the Design and Building Practitioners Act NSW (2020) and addresses:

  • What is the duty?
  • Who does it apply to?
  • The interpretation and application of the duty and current position

Sharon presents some relevant case studies, on which the Courts have been required to consider the application of a new duty of care. She goes through judgments to show how these case studies are interpreted and the key takeaways.
