Museums and Australia's Garden History: Finding the Cure in

Museums and Australia's Garden History: Finding the Cure in the Garden

About

Garden objects, ephemera and stories are well-represented in Australian museum collections, though their significance and connections are not always fully recognised or interpreted. It is time for museum curators and garden historians to have a closer dialogue, so they can better tell the ‘garden’ stories in their collections.

In this talk curator and historian Luke Keogh will discuss the connection between garden history, medical history and museum collections. He will showcase some of the objects and stories he has uncovered, focussing in particular on his recent work as the White Family Senior Fellow in Australian Garden History in the National Museum of Australia.

After the talk we will enjoy refreshments and conversation.

Location
