If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a theatre or you’re interested in old movie cameras, deco buildings and organs then head to the Majestic Theatre Pomona on the 19th October for Open House 2024. The doors open at 10am and we will screen a free silent film at 12 noon. Two comedies “One Week” about a flat pack house and “It’s a Gift” starring Australian silent movie star Snubs Pollard who invents a crazy little car that runs on a magnet.Free guided tours will be on offer at 10.30am, 11am, 11.30am and then following the movie at 1.30pm, 2pm & 2.30pm. You can register to do a guided tour by clicking ‘view event’ below. Be quick as there are limited spaces for each tour.
We just set up our mini movie camera museum in the ‘bio box’ and its stuffed full of old movie memorabilia and old reel to reels. You can check out what we do back stage. See the organ bellows, see our new renovated Green Room and also the pipe chamber for the 1937 Compton Organ.
