100 STORY SPRING HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Tell amazing stories and share them with words, pictures and sounds in our 2024 Spring School Holiday Program at 100 Story Building!
These holidays, we’re offering two immersive days filled with creativity, imagination, and hands-on activities which will bring out the storyteller in anyone.

Day 1 - Tuesday, 1 October 2024: Campfire Cliffhangers

Participants are invited to take on the imaginary role of campers at  'Campfire Cliffhanger' in this day-long writing workshop. Through a sequence of writing exercises and storytelling games participants will explore this mysterious camp in the woods and share their ideas with the group around the campfire (don't worry parents - not an actual, real fire).

In our thrilling conclusion we'll record our ideas together as spoken stories complete with improvised sound effects that participants will receive as an emailed sound file. 

Day 2 - Wednesday, 2 October 2024: Poetic Adventures

Poetry is the wildflowers popping up in the most unexpected places in your story. In this workshop, participants will plant their own story seeds and watch them bloom into a mini verse novel with poems and awesome collage artwork.

You’ll dive into the wild and free world of poetry and collage, learning to mix words and pictures to tell your story. Participants will learn poetic devices to play with words, and make amazing collages to bring the poems to life.

All levels of writers will be welcomed and supported, and each participant will leave with their own booklet filled with their creative poetic adventures. 

For ages 8-12.

📅 When: 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday 1 October and Wednesday 2 October 2024
📍 Where: 100 Story Building, 206-208 Nicholson Street, Footscray 3011
🌟 Cost: $95 per day or $180 for both days
🥪 Bring: Your own lunch and drink bottle. Everything else, from materials to magic, will be provided!
