The GA Ready course is designed to bridge the gap between flying school & the real world.
Candidates will undertake an intensive 2 week course in Darwin, covering
- Cessna 210 Type Familiarisation (minimum 5 hours achieved on type)
- Customer Service Training delivered in the context of GA operations;
- General Emergency Training - management of emergencies in flight, passengers during emergencies, briefing of passengers in all operations, water/ditching & bush survival considerations, use of life jackets/rafts & practical life jacket training (wet drills);
- Darwin Airspace Familiarisation (including a visit to Darwin ATC);
- Land & Hold Short Operations qualification (as available);
- Remote area / unsealed airfield operations;
- Top end weather considerations, avoidance & management;
- Commercial operations - decision making, fatigue management, risk management & general company interactions;
- CASA visit;
- Observation flight with Fly Tiwi (Single pilot RPT ops).
