This AAFT PD event will trace Family Therapy: the past, the present, and the future.The presentation will be an account of Aldo Gurgone's experiences and perceptions of the development of family therapy over the last fifty years. It will cover the significant people who inspired our presenter and the Family Therapy family in Australia, work at the William Street Family Therapy Centre, as well as where family therapy is heading in the future.
Your presenter: Aldo Gurgone is a Clinical Psychologist and has been practising family therapy since 1972. Aldo continues to provide individual, couple and family therapy as well as Clinical Training & Supervision of Mental Health Professionals & Agencies. Aldo established the William Street Family Therapy Centre in 1987 as a Centre of Excellence in Family and Relationship Therapy and Professional Training. In 2021 Aldo received the prestigious award for outstanding services to the field of Family Therapy in Australia from AAFT.
