Joachim Froese - ‘Constructing the World, Photographs 1999 - 2023’.
Joachim Froese is a photographer and educator who lives and works in Brisbane and Berlin. Born in Canada, he grew up in Germany and migrated to Australia in 1991.
He combines exceptional technical expertise in all areas of photography with a highly conceptual approach that focuses on the principal question of how we use photography to construct the world around us.
As an educator he has held regular academic appointments at universities in Australia and Germany. He enjoys sharing his technical and conceptual knowledge across a wide range of analogue and digital processes. He conducts workshops in photography that cater for beginners as well as advanced practitioners alike. His talk this evening will focus on his work and the thoughts and concepts behind it.
