Shu-Ling Chua grew up in Werribee and Hoppers Crossing. Saanjana Kapoor grew up in Seabrook. Both are certain the way they write has drawn greatly from their specific experiences of growing up West. This is set to be a fascinating conversation that will look at how growing up in the west influences a writer’s interests, style, process and work. Together, they will discuss the tensions between the comfort and nostalgia of home and the desire to escape a ‘small life’.
