Ride the Train to End Polio
About
World Polio Day is 24 October. Rotary remains committed to the program “End Polio Now”, which aims to eradicate the disease poliomyelitis through the vaccination of children in the world. Today there are 98 cases in Afghanistan and Pakistan. In order to achieve this, funds need to be raised. Our Goal is to raise awareness of Polio in our communities on 24 October, and to raise $50,000 for ‘End Polio Now’ from Club sponsorships, NOT from the public.
The plan is for Rotarians from Rotary WA to ride the trains throughout the WA Railway Network on Friday 24 October wearing a red Polio T-shirt promoting 'End Polio Now' and creating awareness in the public domain.
Although the event is free, you need to register so you are covered by insurance.
You can ride the trains anytime between 8am & 6.00pm, wearing your Polio T-Shirt - order your t-shirt here subject to availability.
