ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Brenda Hunting

Brenda Hunting is a highly experienced piano teacher and music educator who has just celebrated fifty years of teaching. Her students have ranged from beginners to advanced levels, encompassing all ages from pre-schoolers to retirees. Brenda completed her studies in piano performance and music education at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, and the Golandsky Institute in the USA. Beyond teaching, she has actively contributed to various committees and councils, holding executive positions throughout her career. Since relocating to Brisbane two decades ago, she has been an active member of the Queensland Music Teachers' Association, serving on the Council for six years, including three as president and one as vice-president. She has also taken on roles such as web coordinator, founded the Student Performers Society, and currently manages the online broadcasting of their professional development workshops. Additionally, Brenda has presented numerous professional development workshops for the QMTA. With decades of experience running her own studio and teaching piano, theory, and musicianship, both privately and in several schools, Brenda Hunting is exceptionally well-positioned to discuss the many aspects of managing a private music studio. Brenda has guided both new teachers who are just starting their studios and more experienced educators seeking to refresh and enhance their knowledge of studio management.
