“Hidden Figures,” based on the book by Margot Lee Shetterly, focuses on three African-American women who were essential to the success of early spaceflight. The film was chosen by the National Board of Review as one of the top ten films of 2016 and received various awards and nominations, including three nominations at the 89th Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.After the movie session we have a guest panel from 103.2FM joining us to discuss some of the themes of the movie and take questions from the audience. Our guest panel includes radio announcers Ben McEachan (Hope Mornings) and Brendan and Danniebelle (Hope Breakfast).
