A chance to slow down and reconnect to the earth
Wednesday 23rd April 9am-2pm in Glenorie
Please note: This session is only open to children aged between 5-12 years old
Once you have booked, you will recieve our routine but until then, our day will look a little like this:
In the morning we will have a number of activities available to the children such as tools, paint, clay, water and mud. They will have a chance to play at their own pace and engage with whatever they like during this time.
Once we have played, we will pack everything up and get ready to head off on a bushwalk to have our lunch together. After our lunch the children will be encouraged to find their own special space or 'sit spot' and have some quiet time to themselves (supervised). This is a chance to relax, think, feel and meditate, something that is often forgotten during the busy holidays. The children can bring a book, a drawing pad or just themselves to enjoy this time.
After our lunch and our sit spot time we will head back to our home base and engage in some guided activities. While engaging, the children will also have access to the morning's activities in case they wanted to continue a project.
We will be found this way when you come to pick them up! Our day will be very free flowing and the children can engage in any way they want.
There will be a male and female mentor present.
What the children need to bring:
- A bag/backpack
- Water bottle
- Lunch & snacks
- Hat
- A change of clothes
- Enclosed shoes
- A book, drawing paper, pencils etc for sit spot time
We ask that they DO NOT bring:
- Phones (we will be contactable through our phones at any time. Our aim is to create an unplugged time for the children)
- Thongs/crocs as they can be a trip hazard
- Good clothes (as they will most probably get dirty!)
Upon booking you will recieve:
- Our routine
- Staff bio for both our educators
- Waiver (this must be filled out and returned before the session)
- Risk assessments
- Wild Earthlings policy manual
