Chameleons: Solo Piano with Lee Dionne

Sydney-based pianist Lee Dionne captivates in a fresh program: Chameleons.
In this eclectic, unexpected concert, we hear two young American composers — Miles Walter and Natalie Tenenbaum — paying virtuosic homage to icons Leonard Bernstein and Flying Lotus, adopting their styles and themes. In Etudes and Scherzi, our familiar composers György Ligeti, Unsuk Chin, and Fryderyk Chopin choose classical forms to offer new wine in old skins (tasting notes of stars and pain). And in Bach’s Partita No. 6, we hear a litany of styles and invention, a Bach of many faces.
Our composers are masters of disguise. Come for the two Melbourne premieres (Walter, Tenenbaum). Stay for the virtuosic licks.
TICKETS $30 | $15
Online sales close at 7:30pm on the day of the concert. Tickets can be purchased at the door, dependent on availability. Tempo Rubato is a cashless venue.
