Chameleons: Solo Piano with Lee Dionne
Sydney-based pianist Lee Dionne captivates in a fresh and eclectic program. Hear two young American composers - Walter and Tenenbaum - paying virtuosic homage to icons Leonard Bernstein and Flying Lotus, adopting their styles and themes. In Etudes and Scherzi, Ligeti, Unsuk Chin, and Chopin choose classical forms to offer new wine in old skins (tasting notes of stars and pain). And in Bach’s 6th Partita, hear a litany of styles and invention, a Bach of many faces.
