LGBTIQA+ Inclusion in Sport & Active Recreation 101 -Webinar
South West Sport has partnered with Proud2Play to bring this 90-minute LGBTIQA+ 101 workshop directly to community sporting clubs in the south west.
This workshop has been designed to provide a solid foundational understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community and the unique challenges they may face when seeking to participate in sports and active recreation.
Topics Covered:
• LGBTQIA+ - what all these letters stand for!
• The difference between sexuality, gender identity and biological sex
• Defining some common terms in the LGBTQIA+ space
• Why putting a focus on inclusion is so important
• What barriers to inclusion look like
• Using easy inclusive language (and looking at pronoun use)
• How to create welcoming active spaces moving forward
