Connect to Protect: Song writing workshop on Country

About
Connect to Protect: Singing Country with Uncle Chris Tobin and Sarah Humphreys. Brought to you by Buran Nalgara, Kindlehill Senior School.A free songwriting workshop on Country for young people aged 12-18.
In 2024, Kindlehill Senior School began a geographical investigation into the closed Canyon Collery and its continued impact on the sacred Bulgamatta (Grose Valley waters). In collaboration with The Conservation Society, we held an event that aimed to connect young people and families to Country through ceremony, arts and science. This workshop is the first of three that continues this adventure into connecting young people to Country with the hope to inspire love and action for water.
We will start with ceremony and storytelling with Uncle Chris who has held Art Camp at the site of the old coalmine, bringing healing, connection and hope to this important place. This will be followed by a song writing workshop with singer-songwriter Sarah Humphreys.
