Nutrition Education & Skills Training (NEST) Program

About
NEST (Nutrition Education & Skills Training) is a free six-week cooking and nutrition program designed to support parents and carers of children aged 0 to 12 in building healthier habits through practical and affordable food choices. The program focuses on helping families eat well on a budget by covering essential topics like grocery budgeting, safe food storage, understanding nutrition labels, planning meals to minimize waste, and learning simple cooking techniques. Each week, participants take part in a 2.5-hour session that combines hands-on cooking classes, interactive activities, and shared meals, creating a fun and supportive learning environment.
NEST is designed for a group of 12 participants who attend all six weekly sessions, held at the same time and day each week. To make it easier for families to take part, free onsite childcare is provided. At the end of the program, participants receive a certificate, take-home resources, and a copy of the OzHarvest Everyday cookbook
