This workshop supports our courageous wāhine toa, my cousin, as she battles Leiomyosarcoma, raising funds for her, her husband, and children during this challenging time.An afternoon of creativity and connection at our Harakeke (Flax) Flower Vase Fundraiser. This special gathering is more than just a workshop, it’s a moment of mindfulness, aroha (love), and community, all while creating a timeless creation with your own hands.
What You’ll Learn:
Open kōrero (yarn) about the processes of harakeke, from harvesting and weaving to boiling, dyeing, and preparing with care.
Discover the key principles and elements of dried floral design, from balance and proportion to texture and rhythm and use them to create your own unique dried flax flower vase arrangement.
No experience needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to learn. We’ll guide you gently through each step in a supportive environment. All materials and a light kai/afternoon tea provided.
