Approximately one in five Australian school students will experience an emotional or behavioural difficulty (EBD)—a challenge that affects classrooms across the country. When these students are not adequately recognised or supported, at least three concerning outcomes tend to follow: they often underperform academically, their teachers experience heightened stress, and the school environment can inadvertently contribute to a decline in their wellbeing.
Fortunately, there are practical, evidence-based steps that all members of the school community can take to make a lasting difference.
In this webinar, Dr John Burns will present a clear and accessible overview of strategies that every educator—from classroom teachers to school leaders—can implement. These approaches are designed to enhance not only academic engagement for students with EBDs, but also their long-term wellbeing.
This session will be particularly valuable for educators seeking to respond effectively to challenging behaviours, build inclusive learning environments, and create meaningful change for students with complex emotional needs.
