Join us for National Science Week with Dr Claire Pannell - a musician, scientist and multidisciplinary STEAM artist educator who transforms everyday objects into extraordinary musical instruments.
Combining design thinking with a passion for both art and science, Claire reimagines tools and found objects into sound-making devices or gallery installations. Come along to hear Claire's inspiring journey, explore her creative process and experience a live demonstration of her imaginative instruments.
Claire has had a varied career starting out as a research scientist with a BSc Agric. Hons from UWA and more recently as a manager at Scitech for 15 years. She has been an ambassador for PropelArts Youth Arts and has won a WAMI music award twice for Best Experimental Musician. Claire is a lifelong learner who shares her curiosity about science and creativity to support great mental health as we age.
