Wine and Words at Stonier Winery

About
Join us at Stonier Winery and hear bestselling authors Graeme Simsion and Anne Buist discuss their latest book, The Oasis.
Western Port Writes is thrilled to present partners and authors Anne Buist and Graeme Simsion live in conversation, as they chat about The Oasis, the second book in their groundbreaking Menzies Mental Health series. The Oasis, which follows in the footsteps of The Glass House, is set in an acute psychiatric ward at the fictitious Menzies Hospital. Trainee psychiatrist Dr Hannah Wright, keen to develop her skills in ‘talking therapies’, must navigate demanding colleagues, personal demons, and her patients' wide-ranging mental health issues and the causes.
This brilliant collaboration, exploring mental health through a fiction lens, combines Buist’s professional experience with Simsion’s characteristic storytelling. Professor Anne Buist is Chair of Women’s Mental Health at the University of Melbourne; and Dr Graeme Simsion is the international bestselling author of The Rosie Project trilogy. They talk books with WPW Festival Director, Sally Holdsworth.
