JWard Guided Bus Tour

 Take a guided tour of JWard, Ararat’s Old gaol and Lunatic Asylum. Hear stories of its time as a gaol with murderers and thieves and later as the home for Victoria’s criminally insane.

Please be aware this tour is not suitable for limited mobility

Those using the free VLine train service can catch the following train 
7:53am depart Melbourne Southern Cross Station 
10:22am arrive Ararat Railway Station 

 
10:30am  Board the bus at the Ararat Railway Station  
10.45am – 12.45pm Guided Tour JWard Old Gaol and Lunatic Asylum 

1.00pm - Drop off at Ararat Town Hall 

Free time to have lunch (not included), browse the town, Alexandra Gardens or do some shopping 

2pm Pick up at Ararat Town Hall 

2.10pm Drop off at Ararat Railway Station
