Medical Imaging Essentials
The Medical Imaging Department (MID) invites all nurses from the wards to join us for a full-day interactive session tailored for nurses with little or no prior experience in Medical Imaging
This is a unique opportunity to build foundational knowledge, discover our dynamic clinical environment, and understand how MID works in collaboration with ward-based nursing.
Content Includes:
- An overview of the Medical Imaging Department and its various modalities
- Nursing roles and responsibilities specific to MID
- Radiation safety practices
- Overview of Central Venous Access Devices (CVADs) inserted in MID
- Introduction to Percutaneous Procedures in DSA
- Presentations by Medical Representatives on drains, ports, and PICCs
- Hands-on experience: “Touch and Feel” station with key equipment
Come along to learn a new field of nursing, ask questions, make connections, and build confidence in caring for patients undergoing imaging procedures.
8 CPD hours
Cost for SVHM staff - $25
$20 will be refunded on attendance
