The sound of Korean tradition in AustraliaBeyond the Melodies is a stage where Korea’s rhythm, stories, and emotions meet.
Presented by Australia-based Korean traditional music group PURĚ, this performance blends storytelling and live music, reimagining melodies through a modern K-style lens.
At its heart are the Daegeum, a bamboo flute which breath carries centuries of tradition, and the Gayageum, a zither of silk strings whose resonance embodies elegance and depth. Their sounds of bamboo and silk connect past and present.
Whether it’s your first time hearing Korean instruments or you’re simply curious, this is a space to feel, connect, and enjoy together.
