Poetry Reading: Belle Ling, Pam Schindler and Romaine Basser
About
Join us for a joint poetry reading exploring the different viewpoints and perspectives that influence the words of a poet. We will be hearing from the new work by Belle Ling, Nebulous Vertigo. Belle Ling is an award-winning poet and an academic in the field of creative writing, currently living in Hong Kong and previously based in Queensland, where she gained her PhD in creative writing from The University of Queensland. We will also hear from Pam Schindler, winner of the 2025 Tim Thorne Prize for Poetry at the Tasmanian Literary Awards who lives by the sea in Tasmania. Romaine Basser a translator of contemporary chinese poetry to english will also join the reading. Romaine Basser (aka Romaine Scott) is an embarrassingly lazy and a “not to be hurried” translator of Chinese poetry and short stories. She is also an infrequently published poet in China which probably says more about the quality of her personal musing than anything else. She lives with her family in the Huon Valley.Location
