BoSP Melbourne – Strategies for Winning Work

BoSP Melbourne – Strategies for Winning Work

hero

Join the ACA and our Melbourne Business of Small Practice (BoSP) forum on 26 August for our next BoSP event on success strategies for winning work. Hear from our expert panel of clients vs architects representing a range of different sectors. Find out what values clients are looking for when engaging architects and some of the success strategies for getting projects across the line. See you there!

Be part of the BoSP community at our next event, this time hosted in the Melbourne CBD by event sponsor Signature Floors. Be ready to join the conversation as our panellists share their insights on success strategies for winning work, considering questions including –

  • What values are clients looking for across different sectors?
  • How do practices present their brand and values?
  • What do developers seek from architects and what criteria do they consider?
  • What are the different types and roles of panels and how do you get on them?
  • How to consider the scale of projects when tendering?
  • What should you consider if moving into a new sector?

Since he joined Milieu Group in 2016, Patrick has managed the sales and marketing of all developments, working closely on projects from inception through to settlement. This ranges from selecting designers and consultants, to site inspections and more. Patrick has long been interested in property development and commenced his career in the industry as soon as he completed high school. 21 years on, he provides Milieu with a well rounded and attentive leadership style that sees him take the lead in client interactions.

Jessie Fowler, Director, Fowler Ward. Jessie Fowler is a founding director of Fowler and Ward Architects, a practice that enjoys producing creative, livable, and tailored responses to complex sites, interesting briefs and increased density. Jessie previously worked both locally and internationally, including for respected practices Clare Cousins Architects and Boston-based Merge Architects. In Boston, Jessie led teams working on major projects including the City Modern multi-residential development in Detroit and the renovation of the Massachusetts headquarters of a global search engine company. Jessie’s passion lies in producing spaces, and houses in particular, that give back to their neighbourhood. Creating homes in small spaces, sensitive renovations that breathe new life into under appreciated buildings, and new-builds or multi-residential developments that increase density without overwhelming neighbourhood character.

Mat Foley, Director, Content Studio. Mat founded Fitzroy-based Content Studio in 2008. The studio has successfully delivered schools, libraries, community hubs, and interpretive centres, for clients such as the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), City of Melbourne and Tourism Victoria. The practice works across a broad range of project scales, ranging from $100K to $15M. At Content, Mat takes the lead on all projects with the support of a dedicated team of registered architects and graduates. Mat’s hands-on approach is key to studio operations and the solutions delivered to clients and projects. Prior to launching Content Studio, Mat worked on award-winning projects in Australia, London, China, and Singapore for international practices Lab Architecture Studio and Denton Corker Marshall, focusing on the design and delivery of prominent cultural and commercial projects.
