Duo Ecletttico returns to Tempo Rubato with a program that invokes dramatic imagery and soundscapes. Barry Conyngham’s Images and Louisa Trewartha’s Fire Line Suite - both written for the ensemble - open the concert with distinctive Australian voices. Luke Carbon joins in the second half for Andrian Pertout’s Riesenschritte, before the evening closes with Takashi Yoshimatsu’s Fuzzy Bird Sonata, a contemporary classic with hints of bebop, that blends rhythmic drive with lyrical expression.
