Why did the boy from Bellambi Beach leave his ‘lucky country’ home behind? New language, country, people, endless paperwork - all for a mere shot at success on the stages of Europe.But what is ‘home’ anyway? Is it the stage on which our hopes, dreams and struggles unfold? Is it a sense of place - of stability and belonging? Or, is it somewhere else that we’re meant to seek out? Is that place already in our hearts? Or, do we simply just need to go out and search for it?
When we leave our homes to start a new one, we become caught between two worlds — belonging nowhere and everywhere all at the same time.
So how does a budding singer find his way on the other side of the world?
In GOIN’ HOME, Jeremy invites you on his journey from the beaches of Wollongong to the theatres of Germany where he lives and performs today.
Jeremy is joined on the keys by his friend Su Hee Cho (‘Hamilton’ - Sydney Lyric Theatre) for a night of opera, operetta, musical and everything else in between.
