U14-2s Boys' Representative Cricket Trial Registration for 2025-26
This is the registration process for NSJCA's U14-2s boys' representative cricket trials for season 2025-26. There are two trials; however, only those invited will attend the second trial. Registration covers both trials.
Competition Organiser. From and including season 2025-26, the 14-2's competition will be run by Cricket NSW (CNSW), rather than IDCA as was previously the case. One immediate change is the requirement for matches to be played with white balls. As a result, players will need to wear maroon-coloured pads or maroon-coloured clads when batting. There may be other changes to the competition compared to prior years.
Match Dates. Competition matches will be on these dates: 30 Nov 25, 07 Dec 25, 14 Dec 25, 01 Feb 26, 08 Feb 26, 15 Feb 26 and 22 Feb 26 (finals). There may be practice matches prior to the first competition match.
Playing surface. Potentially, matches might be played solely on synthetic wickets, rather than on turf with a synthetic back-up, as was the case previously.
Eligibility. NSJCA's and CNSW's eligibility criteria are contained in NJSCA's Representative Cricket policies which can be found on the Representative Cricket page of NSJCA's website: www.nsjca.asn.au
Exemptions for eligibility require approval from NSJCA’s Representative Sub‐Committee and will only be granted case-by-case. Requests for exemptions are to be submitted via: reps@nsjca.asn.au before registration but no later than one week prior to the first trial.
Registration and Nomination. Players are required to register with NSJCA before trials. Please ensure the birth date for your son is correctly entered into the registration form. Enter the same number of tickets as the number of players you are registering. This will save you entering your contact details multiple times.
Registration will close at 5pm on Friday, 17 October. If you register and subsequently decide to cancel, please advise us before trials occur.
CNSW only permits players to trial for one association and requires players to nominate that association before trials. Nominations are to be submitted via this form: https://www.playhq.com/cricket-australia/register/4eb09f
Trial dates, times and venue. Trial 1 will be on Sunday, 19 October and Trial 2 on Sunday, 2 November. It is likely both trials will be conducted in the afternoon. Exact times and venues will be posted on NSJCA's website closer to trial dates.
Wet weather. In the event of wet weather, the trial dates, times and venue may change. Such changes will be advised via the NSJCA website.
Parent and Player Responsibilities. For each trial, players are to bring a 156g red leather cricket ball. They should also bring food and water. Players are not to wear representative cricket clothing to trials. Parents are to:
- supervise trialists who are not undertaking trial activity at a particular time
- remain at a distance from trial areas, including when their children are undertaking trial activity
Commitment. Players selected need to be available to play substantially all competition matches and practice matches. Players also need to be available to attend training as determined by the team coach. Representative training takes precedence over club training.
Compliance. Parents who register are requested to read NSJCA's representative cricket policies. These policies - including codes of conduct - bind trialists, those selected to play and parents. By registering, parents agree to accept selection decisions made by NSJCA's Representative Sub-Committee.
